About the Community
Ypsilanti is an urban/suburban district about 40 miles outside of downtown Detroit. It is a diverse community of approximately 20,200 people. It is the home of Eastern Michigan University and the first location of Domino's pizza.
Challenges
- Needs to know how all students are doing at any given time through ongoing "check-ins" and gather data for proper decision making
- Wants to provide social and emotional supports for all students in an efficient manner
- Social workers and administrators can be overextended, and there is a need to take some of that burden off of them
- Seeking resources to complement and fill in gaps for staff members, as needed
The Solution: TEAMTalk by TEAMology
- Has the ability for every student to have regulars "check-ins," and not only the students who have been previously identified with mental health needs
- Believes TEAMology will provide flagging and alerts for staff members to take action immediately
- Embraces TEAMology's collaborative approach to meeting the needs of all students
- Recognizes the professional development offerings could benefit educators and social workers
In partnership with TEAMology, I feel that we can support individual students on a regular basis. I am passionate about providing my skilled professionals and educators with resources to help them be successful. TEAMology is not a stand-alone product and systematically, we can make a difference in the lives of students.

Data Watch
The district currently uses climate surveys to gauge how students feel in their classroom settings.
They will continue to collect and review that data for the 2nd- 5th grade students piloting TEAMology during the 2024/25 school year.
They plan to use staff surveys to collect data on student impact. An analysis of student referral data will also be monitored. In addition, there will be regular conversations with social workers and building administrators for adequate implementation and efficacy.
