TEAMtalk uses informed consent at the beginning of the conversation with the child. At that time, they are notified that they understand that if they reveal any information that indicates there is concern for their safety, someone else’s safety or a threat against property, a trusted adult will be notified right away. TEAMtalk requires a trusted adult email and phone number for the child to access the system. This email and phone number is then used if a concern arises during a screening or coaching session.
TEAMology does not collect or store any identifiable user information.
TEAMology stores conversational data from the screening and experiences to better understand how to support users. This information is not identifiable but does provide an opportunity to use the data to continue to enhance the product to help kids.
NO! TEAMtalk is NOT meant to be used as a replacement for counseling or therapy. This tool is best used as a way to support and guide students with practical tips and strategies in a non-threatening and non-judgmental way. A child or student can use this product as much as they want, but TEAMtalk is able to triage needs to assist professionals in identifying when a child might need more intensive support.
TEAMology is committed to building the best and most effective products for childrens’ social, emotional and mental health. Technology provides an amazing opportunity to assist children at scale and meet them where their needs are; however, it’s important for humans to work alongside technology to ensure the best possible experience and service for our users.
Absolutely not. TEAMtalk was created to help kids in real time with any issues they are facing. Educators know that when students have things on their mind, are not getting their needs met, are struggling with a friend or family issue or are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, worried, scared, angry or sad it is much harder (and sometimes impossible) for them to focus on academics. Students are carrying around a lot of emotional baggage right now and it is interfering with how well educators can reach them. Instead of thinking of TEAMtalk as another thing on their plate, they can istead think of it as a fork or spoon to help them with all the other things on their plate. TEAMtalk will provide the safe place, the supportive ear and the strategies to help them resolve what they have going on so that educators can focus on teaching.
